John Burton Advocates for Youth Launches 2015/2016 Book Fund

John Burton Advocates for Youth is pleased to announce the opening of the 2015/2016 Burton Book Fund, which provides up to $350 for foster youth enrolled in California colleges and universities towards the purchase of textbooks at their campus bookstore. Eligibility for the program has changed somewhat from previous years. The amount available will now be pro-rated based on unit enrollment and the fund is limited to foster youth who were in care on or after the age of 13. An application must be completed by the student and be certified by a campus representative. In order to participate the campus bookstore must have an agreement in place with the John Burton Advocates for Youth.

In addition, JBAY has opened the 2015/2016 gift card program and laptop competition. Similar to in previous years, gift cards are available to Chafee-eligible students and the application form must be certified by a campus representative. The laptop competition is open to Chafee-eligible students and requires the submission of an essay.
