Current Programs

Currently, there is a wide range of academic support programs for former foster youth attending college in California. The range of services provided by these programs varies considerably, and the most accurate information about each program can be gained by directly contacting the program coordinator, who is listed for each program. The academic resources available to former foster youth in higher education generally fall into one of two categories:

Campus Support Program
These programs offer an array of services, often including financial aid assistance, dedicated campus support staff and housing among others. The goal of campus support programs is to provide former foster youth attending higher education with specialized academic, social and financial support.

Campus Liaison
These programs have a specified person within an existing student program who has specialized knowledge about the special resources available for former foster youth in higher education.
