Fullerton College - community college FYSI Fullerton College has created a support network for emancipated foster youth that includes many of support services and programs and extends to local agencies that deliver services and aid to the emancipated foster youth. Fullerton College EOPS -Foster Youth Success Initiative provides orientation, counseling, peer advising, priority registrations, financial aid assistance, individual tutoring, workshops, a Text Card, university transfer waivers, and special events. |

Orange Coast College - community college In 2003 Orange Coast College joined with Orangewood children's home to offer scholarships to college-bound students who were either exiting the foster care system, had sought emancipation, or overcome similar circumstances. The Guardian Scholars program is a comprehensive program of financial aid, life coaching, mentoring, housing and personalized attention. Orangewood Children's Foundation serves as a supporting agency for several colleges in the Orange County area. This program serves only Orange County foster youth. |

San Bernardino Valley College - community college The community college Youth Empowerment Strategies for Success (YESS) programs are designed to assist current and former foster and probation youth successfully navigate the community college system while simultaneously teaching them basic life skills. YESS program services include dedicated program staff that assist students complete the FAFSA, Chafee grant application and other financial aid forms, refer and assist youth to access campus and community based resources and provide experience-based life skills training. |

San Diego State University - 4 year public university SDSU's Guardian Scholars Program is administered through the Office of Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) and Ethnic Affairs. Services include year round housing, individual guidance and support, Summer Bridge for incoming freshmen and Transfer Bridge for transfer students, Guardian Scholars University Seminar, peer mentoring, and tutoring. Program participants also have the opportunity to apply for the Alex Smith Foundation Scholarship once accepted into the SDSU Guardian Scholars Program. |

University of California, Riverside - 4 year public university UC Riverside Guardian Scholars is a program that provides scholarships, life coaching, mentors, housing and personalized attention to former foster youth. The program assists with covering some of the cost of summer housing, scholarships, books, food and emergencies. The UCR Guardian Scholars program provides a network of resources to students who are "aging out" or "emancipating" from the foster care system to facilitate their successful pursuit of higher education. The program draws on the resources, strength and support of the UCR community to provide scholars with a comprehensive college experience and the opportunity to explore and realize their full potential. |
