Campus Support 101
Starting college can be overwhelming and confusing at times for all new students, but help is available.

For foster youth who may not have the family backup, there are now many support programs that can become a youth’s campus family. These programs can help youth beginning with the application and matriculation process and through graduation.

All California Community Colleges, CSUs and UC campuses have programs specifically to support current and former foster youth. In addition to these programs, colleges offer other support resources that may target specific students, such as student parents or students with disabilities, or that are available to all students such as tutoring services or transfer counseling.
